Rough composition

After selecting a few suitable compositions I visit or supply the sitter and commissioner with one or more rough initial drawings that give a flavour of the finished painting (see example opposite).

By offering my ideas up for discussion in this way ensures that all parties interests are met. Time taken at this stage is always important as liaising is part of any commission process.
